Established in 1995 — a milestone year marking 50 years since the end of World War II, the liberation of Auschwitz, and the passing of Anne Frank — the Holocaust Education Center is Japan’s first institution dedicated to Holocaust education. Over the years, it has welcomed more than 800 schools and approximately 210,000 visitors, preserving and passing on the memory of the Holocaust.

In his remarks, Ambassador Cohen focused on the importance of learning about the Holocaust, looking back at history, and continuing to take action for the future. He mourned the six million victims and pledged to keep working to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again.
