The Embassy of the State of Israel in Tokyo is looking for an experienced and motivated cook. The role involves providing daily meals for the staff and preparing dishes for guests in various events.
Position: Embassy Cook
Key Responsibilities include (not limited to the following task)
• Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
• Cook and serve for events (party dishes)
• Purchase groceries and necessities
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen utensils and equipment
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Conversational Level of English and Japanese
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters
• Strong understanding of various cooking methods
• Proficiency in organization skills
• A willingness to study and learn new recipes
• Strong interpersonal abilities
• Capacity for self-motivated, independent work and initiative-taking
• Experience in planning and preparing dishes for events or parties
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Experience as a cook is an advantage
• Familiarity with Mediterranean cuisine
• Previous experience of working in an international environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure

Additional Information
• Working Hours: 9:00~18:00 (Monday to Friday)
• Overtime work will be compensated with compensatory days off.
• Starting salary is 252,405 Yen. Exact salary will be determined according to previous work experience and cook’s license.
• As of second year, annual remuneration includes 14 salaries (12 monthly salaries + a bonus equivalent of 2 of monthly salary in December). As of third year, annual remuneration includes 16 salaries (12 monthly salaries + 2 bonuses equivalent to 2 of monthly salary in June & December).
• Annual paid leave: 14 – 20 days (increasing in accordance with seniority)
• Travel expenses are covered.
• Comprehensible social insurance included.
• Candidate, if advanced in process, will be required to security clearance process, and to present certificate of criminal record (犯罪経歴証明書) from the Japanese.
