Application for deferment of reporting for military service for Israelis staying abroad

This service enables Israeli citizens and permanent residents of Israel who are staying abroad and are candidates for military service, to regularize their status with the IDF.

Who can apply?

The service is provided to Israeli citizens and permanent residents of Israel, from the age of 16 and 4 months, who live or are staying abroad.

How to apply

By email – The applicant must send the application by email, together with all the required documents plus a photocopy of his/her passport, and if either or both of his parents are Israeli citizens, a photocopy of their passport.

The consular representative will decide, at his/her discretion, whether the applicant must appear in person at the mission.

Schedule an appointment

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.


Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.

n cases where attendance is required, an appointment must be made in the appointment system.

Appointment scheduling software will allow you to determine in advance the time of arrival at the embassy and the type of service requested. This will allow the embassy staff to prepare in advance and ensure courteous, efficient and quick treatment.

Please note that:
1. An appointment must be made for each person who arrives (in the case of families - for each member of the family).
2. The visitor's name must be written in foreign letters only (as written in the passport).

Document

Starting from January 1, 2025, a payment option for consular services via bank transfer has been added, in addition to the existing payment options by credit or debit card.

 

The payment amount for the requested service will be in accordance with the details provided on the consulate's website, with the exact required fee listed in the fee schedule (if document return by mail is requested, an additional postage fee of 5 Euros will be charged).

The bank transfer must be made at least 3 business days prior to receiving the service.

 

When making a bank transfer, it is mandatory to include in the transfer notes: the full name of the service recipient (not the payer, if they are different), the requested service, and the Israeli ID number or passport number of the service requester.

When requesting a service (or sending documents by mail), a printout of the payment transfer confirmation must be attached.

Security instructions for those arriving at the embassy:

You must arrive after making an appointment in advance only.

You must arrive equipped with an identification document (passport or ID card) with a photo, the required documents and a means of payment.

Please note that all visitors will be asked to undergo a security check along with their belongings.

For security reasons, personal belongings will not be allowed into the mission, including handbags and electronic devices.

Do not arrive at the mission with large handbags and/or suitcases.

Do not arrive at the mission with food and/or bottles or containers of drinks (there is a cooler in the consular waiting room).

The mission's security instructions will apply to those staying in the consular waiting room.
