A Gift for Students from Representative – Curiosity, Courage, and Resilience

Celebrating International Women’s Day: Maya Y. Yaron’s Inspiring Visit Taipei Municipal Chengyuan High School.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Maya Y. Yaron, Representative of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, recently visited Taipei Municipal Chengyuan High School to engage with students in a meaningful face-to-face dialogue, sharing insights into her career as a female diplomat.
During the discussion, Representative Maya shared three key words with the students: Curiosity, Courage, and Resilience. She encouraged them to approach the world with curiosity, to speak up with confidence, and to grow through challenges and failures.
In response to students’ questions, she emphasized that as a diplomat, curiosity fuels continuous learning, tolerance fosters cross-cultural understanding, and kindness is the foundation for building international connections.
Maya also shared her experience of serving two years in the military, where she encountered people from diverse backgrounds within Israel’s multicultural society. She explained that this diversity plays a crucial role in shaping Israel’s innovation and adaptability.
Beyond her diplomatic experiences, Maya expressed admiration for Taiwan’s cuisine, its safety, and the inclusive nature of its society, which sets it apart from many other countries. She also highlighted the potential for Israel-Taiwan collaboration, particularly in medical technology, agricultural innovation, and AI development, where both regions possess cutting-edge expertise and valuable experience. She believes that working together will create a more resilient future.
In her closing message, Maya reminded students that change does not come only from leaders—it begins with supporting one another in daily actions. She encouraged students to believe in their friends, cheer them on, and empower them, because gender equality is a responsibility shared by all.
