October 7th attack of Hamas on Israel changed us forever. We keep fighting for the right to exist, we keep loosing our loved ones, but we are here to stay.
Yom Hazikaron is dedicated to the memory of fallen Israeli soldiers and victims of terrorism. We mark it the day before Independence Day as a symbol of the great sacrifice that Israelis make for their country.
Memorial day begins with a siren, during which the entire country stops and falls silent in memory of the victims. The next morning at 11:00 a.m., a two-minute siren sounds, starting official memorial services and private memorial gatherings at each cemetery where soldiers are buried. Memorial candles are lit and flags are flown at half-mast to remember those who fell for us.
On October 7th, 2023 Hamas unprecedently attacked Israel. Hamas murdered, raped, tortured and kidnapped Israelis from the Nova music festival and surrounding kibutzim. Our people are still hold hostage, war is raging and we keep loosing our loved ones. The horror continues.
