Israel Donates 77 Sheep to Senegalese Families Ahead of Tabaski

A gesture of solidarity, respect, and shared values between Israel and Senegal during Tabaski.

77 sheep's donation

As the Tabaski celebration approached, the Embassy of Israel in Senegal reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to solidarity with Senegalese families by donating 77 sheep to households in need — a symbolic tribute to the 77th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel .

This meaningful gesture, rooted in a tradition the Embassy has upheld for many years, reflects the core values of Tabaski : sharing, compassion, and mutual respect .

Through this initiative, the Embassy continues to express its desire to stand by the Senegalese people in a spirit of brotherhood and peace .

“Our presence here today carries a message. A message of hope. A message of tradition. A message of peace,” declared Ambassador Yuval Waks during the ceremony.
“Israel will continue to reach out — even in difficult times — and will remain committed to dialogue, mutual respect, and shared life.”

This act of generosity is part of the broader commitment of Israel to deepen its ties with Senegalese society, far beyond diplomacy — by touching lives and sharing values.
