Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest
Israel Bachar was appointed Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest in May 2023, and assumed the post in September. Born in Beit She’an in Northern Israel, Consul General Bachar served in the Israel Defense Force’s Golani Brigade, graduated from Bar Ilan University and earned his MA in Communications at Fordham University in New York. He is an avid Springsteen fan, plays bass guitar and enjoys traveling. He is married to Rachel, who was born and raised in the United States. Israel and Rachel met in New York, and they have three daughters.
