This service allows Israeli citizens and residents living abroad to apply for a non-biometric Israeli travel document or to extend one (a biometric passport is issued only in Israel for 10 years).

It is not possible to issue or extend a biometric passport at the consulate.

Passport issued at the consulate:

A passport issued abroad will be valid for up to five years at most.
It is not possible to extend a passport beyond five years from the date of issue!
After five years, a new passport must be requested!

The consulate in Los Angeles reserves the right to require an individual to appear in person at the consulate if the identification is insufficient or for any other reason that may arise after reviewing the application (for example, if the previous passport was issued many years ago, or if the person applying for the passport was a minor when their current passport was issued).
