WHO CAN RENEW A PASSPORT BY MAILING IT
If you answer 'Yes' to ALL questions below you can apply for a new passport by mail:
1. You are 18 y/o or older. (For minors, in person only, with a parent).
2. You have established your military status. (Relevant mostly to 17-25 y/o).
3. You have your passport in your Possession to submit with your application. (Not first passport, not stolen or lost).
4. The passport is undamaged other than normal wear and tear.
5. You traveled to Israel at least once in the last 10 years.
In all other cases that do not meet the conditions written above, applications for travel documents or passports can be done only in person at the consulate. You must make an appointment in advance through the website.
Each application will be reviewed to check the citizen's eligibility for a travel document, the type of document, and its validity.
Please provide your current address in the United States on the form (not in Israel)
Despite what is stated in this section, the consulate in Los Angeles reserves the right to require an individual to personally appear at the consulate if the identification is insufficient or for any other reason that may arise after reviewing the application (for example, if the previous passport was issued many years ago, or if the person applying for the passport was a minor when their current passport was issued).
Disclaimer: The Consulate General of Israel accepts documents and passports submitted by mail as a convenience for applicants. While we make every effort to process these submissions with care and efficiency, please note that we are not responsible for the safe delivery, loss, or damage of documents or passports sent by mail
