Position: Public Diplomacy Assistant
Job Description
The Embassy of the State of Israel in Tokyo seeks a Public Diplomacy Assistant to develop branding and positioning strategies for the embassy and organize significant events across various domains related to tourism, economy, lifestyle, culinary arts, sports, and more. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing Israel's participation in various local and international events, including exhibitions and other activities. This role offers also a unique opportunity to be involved in Israel's participation in the Expo 2025 project in Osaka.
Reporting Line
Directly reporting to the Head of Public Diplomacy Department.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• University degree in International Relations, Communications, or another relevant field.
• Experience in event production or project management.
• Fluency in both verbal and written English and Japanese.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Proactive, can-do attitude; team player; results-oriented; flexible; and reliable.
• Ability to work cross-culturally.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Previous experience working in an embassy or international organization.
• Experience related to branding and positioning.
• Familiarity with Israel.
Recruitment Process
Stage 1: Evaluation of the applicant's fulfillment of the above-mentioned requirements.
Stage 2: Successful applications will be given a practical assignment.
Stage 3: Successful candidates will be invited for an interview with the Head of Public Diplomacy.
Stage 4: Successful candidates will be invited to a committee interview.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position with a monthly salary of approximately 300,000 Yen, corresponding with experience and qualifications. Further details regarding benefits will be discussed during interviews. Candidates progressing in the recruitment process will undergo a security clearance and must provide a certificate of criminal record from the Japanese police (犯罪経歴証明書).
