As of January 2025, all travelers to Israel must have a valid visa or ETA-IL approval before starting their journey.

The Israeli Population and Immigration Administration is launching the ETA-IL system: Visitors from visa-exempt countries can apply for travel authorization. Those who are eligible will be able to travel to Israel, and stay for up to 90 days or less.
Please note that as of January 1, 2025, travelers without a valid visa or an approved ETA-IL obtained ahead of time will be denied entry to Israel.
Duration of Stay
By obtaining an ETA-IL, travelers can stay in Israel for up to 90 days.
Validity Period
ETA-IL is valid for up to 2 years.
However, if the passport expires within 2 years, the ETA-IL will be valid only until the passport's expiration date.
Application Fee
25 Israeli Shekels
Payment can be made by credit card (Visa / Mastercard).
Exemptions from ETA-IL Requirement
The following individuals are exempt from obtaining an ETA-IL:
Foreign nationals with official Israeli documents
>Travelers with a valid Israeli visa (B1,B3, B4, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5)
>Travelers holding a foreign passport who also has Israeli citizenship
Travel and official representatives
>Crew members that appear on the Crew APIS
>U.S military members holding CAC
>Seamen with seamen book
>Diplomats and passengers with official and service passports
Foreign nationals in the following situations
>Foreign nationals who are passengers on a flight that makes an unscheduled stop in Israel
>Foreign nationals who transit through an Israeli airport without going through border control
Important Notes
*This authorization system applies only to short-term visits (up to 90 days) for tourism and business purposes.
Those entering Israel for employment, study, or other long-term stays must obtain the appropriate visa and are not eligible for ETA-IL.
*Japanese nationals who already hold a valid working permit in Israel should not apply for an ETA-IL. Please obtain a separate entry permit from PIBA (The Israel Population and Immigration Authority).
*Holders of work permits that have already expired or those who are in the process of applying for a work permit, should consult with PIBA before applying for an ETA-IL.
*Israeli citizens or holders of an Israeli identity number do not need to apply for an ETA-IL.
*If you renew your passport or there are changes in your name, gender, or nationality, you must submit a new ETA-IL application.
