The service is provided to Israeli citizens and permanent residents of Israel, from the age of 16 and 4 months, who live or are staying abroad.
By email – The applicant must send the application by email, together with all the required documents plus a photocopy of his/her passport, and if either or both of his parents are Israeli citizens, a photocopy of their passport.
The consular representative will decide, at his/her discretion, whether the applicant must appear in person at the mission.

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.
Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.
Payment must be made according to the Consular fee Chart.
Documents supporting the request to postpone the service: an official confirmation letter from a high school, which contains the name of the institution and its type (academic, high school/theoretical, high school/professional, etc.), the field of study, the type of certificate that the school awards at the end of the studies and an expected graduation date

• Any document in the Japanese language must be translated to Hebrew or English (notarized translation is not necessary)
• If the parents are divorced, the Israel Defense Forces can regulate his military status even if one of his parents lives in Israel, provided he presents a document of possession of the parent with whom he lives abroad
• The regularization of the military status by the embassy, is by the consul's decision, and will be possible if the person has not yet turned 19 years old. For those who are over 19 years old, the application will be forwarded to the treatment of the Israeli authorities and the duration of the treatment will be extended accordingly.
• A student who has not yet turned 18 will be required to have his parents sign the application form for deferment of attendance.
• Extending or renewing the passport will only be possible after the military status is settled.

Please note:
1. Please come to the Embassy only with the documents related to the service you will receive, and avoid arriving with luggage that is not related to the service.
• If you arrive with large luggage, you will not be able to enter the embassy.
2. Mobile phones, laptops, and other electronic devices will be deposited during the security check.
3. Liquids and food cannot be brought into the embassy.
• There is water in the waiting room.
• Please let us know in advance if you need to bring food into the embassy for any reason.
4. Please let us know in advance if you arrive with someone who is not related to the service.
