On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, orange lights, which symbolize the cause, lit up the embassy's walls again this year.
During the horrific terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on October 7 last year, many civilians were raped, tortured, and murdered in their homes and at a music festival.
Women and girls who were abducted and taken to Gaza also became victims of heinous sexual violence. Over a year later, they continue to live in fear of this ongoing nightmare.
We firmly demand the immediate eradication of gender-based violence.
