Head of the department: Smadar Shapira
The public diplomacy department aims to raise awareness of Israel and bring the two societies of Israel and Italy closer, by providing information and content to the Italian public. The department is responsible for relations with local leaders, civil society, organizations, universities and schools, religious representatives, Friendship Associations, activists, and more.
The Department provides information about Israel in various forms, by thematic updates to target groups, by presentations and lectures of diplomats and officials, by organizing events and exhibitions, and by producing visual and written materials and a wide assortment of publications. The Department manages the social networks of the Israeli Embassy in Italy on X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube and this website.
The Department is leading several thematic and public domains at the Embassy such as the relations with the Jewish Communities, the combat against Anti-semitism, Academic Cooperation, Israeli excellence in Innovation, LGBTQ, Gender equality and more.
