Seminar for journalists entitled "85 years since the Racial Laws: fight against anti-Semitism in the Italian media". The event, organized with the aim of raising awareness among media professionals of the importance of combating anti-Semitism, saw the participation of numerous prominent figures in the fields of institutions, journalism and culture.
Many speakers and distinguished guests participated in the initiative. Among them: the Ambassador of Israel to Italy Alon Bar, the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, the President of UCEI Noemi Di Segni, Silvia Haia Antonucci of the Jewish Community of Rome, the President of the National Council of the Order of Journalists Carlo Bartoli, the President of the Order of Journalists of Lazio Guido D'Ubaldo, the Director of the CDEC Foundation Gadi Luzzatto Voghera, the editorialist of Il Giornale Fiamma Nirenstein, and the President of the Shoah Museum Foundation - Onlus of Rome Mario Venezia.
During the event, the two Orders and the "Paolo Murialdi" Foundation on Italian Journalism signed the IHRA definitions of Anti-Semitism, in order to raise awareness among journalists and make them more aware of the danger of anti-Jewish prejudices. This commitment aims to promote responsible media storytelling, free from discrimination and to combat anti-Semitism in all its forms.
The signing of these definitions represents an important step forward in the fight against anti-Semitism and in promoting greater awareness of this issue within the Italian media.
