The Vice Prime Minister and Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, is on an official visit to Israel.

Upon his arrival yesterday at Ben Gurion airport, the Italian Ambassador to Israel Sergio Barbanti and the Israeli Ambassador to Italy Alon Bar welcomed the Minister and accompanied him to the meeting with the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog.

This morning the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister visited Yad Vashem, the national Holocaust remembrance body. The President of Yad Vashem Dani Dayan, welcomed Min. Tajani and accompanied him for the entire duration of the visit.

In the afternoon, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu met with Italian Vice PM and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. On the table, there were topics such as cooperation in the energy and technological fields, the management of migratory flows and the defense of Ukraine.

The following day, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen signed an agreement on the mutual recognition and conversion of driving licenses with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani. The previous agreement, signed in 2013, expired in 2018. Our Embassy and our Ambassador Alon Bar, have worked tirelessly to renovate it, thus making the lives of hundreds of Israelis living in Italy easier.
