Required Documents To Apply
The passport or travel document that is to be extended.
Tip
The first request to renew or extend an Israeli travel document after the age of 18 must be submitted in person at the Embassy.
Tip
Passport extension is free of charge
Required presence at the Consulate,
The application can be submitted by mail, Appearance in person at the mission is subject to the discretion of the consular representative.
Please note
Extension of Israeli Travel Documents is only applicable to persons who hold a travel document or passport that was given a validity of less than five years, within the previous five years from the date of application - this normally happens to minors who are of military age and we shorten their passport validity in order to remind parents to file for military deferral when they are 16.4, after which we can extend passport for free.
The other case is when giving a travel document to an Israeli who has not visited Israel in over 5 years - in this case we shorten the passport validity to complete a 10 year period from the previous visit - after visiting Israel we can extend the travel document for free, as long as the request is placed in the five year period from the issuing of the travel document.
