A change of name comes into force only after it has been approved by the Population and Immigration Authority. Following the approval, an updated passport may be issued by the mission where the notice was submitted.
An updated ID card will be issued by the Population and Immigration Authority in Israel only.
The applicant for the service must appear in person at the mission.
The applicant must complete the notice of choice of name and the notice of change in marital status (marriage, divorce, widowhood) and bring it in person to an Israeli mission in the country where he lives

This service is provided free of charge if carried out together with changing personal status. Please present your apostilled certificate of change of marital status (marriage, divorce or widowhood). If the certificate is from Israel, no need for an apostille stamp.
