Welcome!

On behalf of my entire team, I welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Czech Republic in the heart of Europe! It is a great honor for me to serve as the ambassador of my country in the Czech Republic, a country with a long and rich Jewish history and traditionally incredibly friendly relations. Our countries are united by a wide range of common values and interests and an intensive dialogue in the fields of business, academic affairs, culture, science and innovation and cyber security.

Relations between Israel and the Czech Republic have been exceptional from the very beginning. In 1947, at the General Assembly, Czechoslovakia voted in favor of the Resolution regarding the partition of the then British Mandate of Palestine, and was among the first countries to recognize the State of Israel, four days after the declaration of Israel's independence on May 18, 1948. Above all, the Czechs helped our country to survive in the difficult first days of its existence, when they provided Israel not only with equipment, but also with the training of the air force of the newly formed state. This support was and is a testament to the strong relationship the two countries have shared in the past and continue to share today. The policies of the communist regime forced the Czech Republic to forcibly break diplomatic relations with Israel, however, at the moment when the Czech nation was once again able to democratically choose its own destiny, the bonds between our nations were renewed and diplomatic relations were re-established.

Today, this relationship has turned into a full-fledged partnership that benefits both parties.
Every year, our embassy participates in the implementation of dozens of cultural projects, on which it cooperates with the most important Czech cultural institutions and festivals, and which present and make Israeli culture accessible to the Czech audience.

From an economic point of view, the Czech Republic represents an increasingly important partner for Israel - in trade, investment, science and technology. Our embassy's day-to-day activities include actively promoting an environment in which mutual trade and business can develop, and providing advice and support to Israeli and local companies interested in creating contacts and jobs.

For citizens of Israel, the Czech Republic is an attractive destination that not only attracts its visitors with its rich culture and history, nature and culinary experiences, but also as a place to live, study and work. Our embassy is ready to provide them with help and advice in case of any need.

Together with the entire team of the Israeli Embassy, we are glad that our work can contribute to deepening the close relations between our countries. I will be happy if our website serves you to your satisfaction and thus contributes to the long-term and multi-layered friendship that exists between the Czech Republic and Israel.
