Ambassador Koren participates in the commemoration in Jasenovac

On April 22, 2025, Ambassador Gary Koren participated in the commemoration in the Jasenovac Memorial Area. 

On this occasion, the Ambassador said: "Today I attended the traditional ceremony at the Jasenovac Memorial Site to mark the 80th anniversary of the heroic and tragic attempt by inmates to break out of the Ustasha concentration camp. 

The inclusion of students from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Arts in reading the stories of survivors gave a particularly moving dimension to the prayers and laying of flowers in memory of the Serbian, Roma, Slovenian, Croatian and Jewish prisoners, all of whom were brutally massacred there."
