The ambassador

I am arriving at a special time, when relations between our countries are warming up, and our common goal as an Embassy will be to take these relations to the next level.

I come from the Economic Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and plan to devote considerable efforts to advancing our economic relations. For example, Costa Rica is one of the world's leading exporters of agricultural produce and Israeli technologies can make that produce more efficient, ecological and profitable. We will also work towards launching negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement and working on the establishment of a Costa Rican trade & innovation office in Jerusalem.

Another important issue that we will continue to work on is the adoption by Costa Rica of the full IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, making an important contribution to this global effort.

I would like to thank CR for its firm support of Israel’s right to self-defense in the face of the brutal massacre perpetrated by the Hamas terrorist organization and for its call for the immediate release of the Israeli hostages held in captivity by Hamas
