Colombia recognized the State of Israel in February 1949 and diplomatic relations were established on October 1, 1957.
The free trade agreement between the State of Israel and Colombia entered into force on August 11, 2020.
Colombia has an Embassy in Israel at Ramat Gan.
In 2017, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited Colombia. In 2021, the president of Colombia, Ivan Duque, visited Israel.
