The Embassy of Israel in Cameroon and H.E. Roger Mila delivered sports equipment to the TKC handball club and the soccer academy, under the theme: 'Sports and peace'.
The Israeli Embassy in Cameroon and H.E. Roger Milla were proud to hand-over sports equipment to the TKC handball club and the Football Academy, under the theme : ‘Sports and Peace’.
It is important to remember that relations between the Israeli Embassy and H.E. Roger Milla's Coeur d’Afrique Foundation are long-standing, friendly and excellent.
In August 2017, H.E. Roger Milla had been received as an official guest of the State of Israel. The Roving Ambassador met Israeli officials, visited the Israeli Football Federation, sports training Centres, schools, programmes for disabled people and the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem). This enabled him to initiate partnerships and establish contacts that are now benefiting the Coeur d’Afrique Foundation.
In February 2018, the Israeli Embassy in partnership with Roger Milla's Coeur d’Afrique Foundation and the Ministry of Sports and Civic Education, organized the Demonstration of a MIFALOT method under the theme: ‘’Sport for peace and social cohesion ‘’. MIFALOT is an Israeli non-profit organization that promotes sport as a tool for developing peace between different communities.
Also in 2018, in partnership with the Roger Milla Foundation, the Israeli Embassy donated small business equipment to the Centre des Femmes Handicapées de la rue Manguiers in Yaoundé. The equipment included sewing machines, computers, wheelchairs and refrigerators.
Still in the humanitarian field, in 2018, the Israeli Embassy, together with the Foundation, handed over a large donation of medicines to the Chantal Biya Foundation's sickle cell children's department.
For the Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E. Amnon Kalmar, this close and fruitful cooperation must be consolidated and strengthened, hence the initiative taken to proceed, with the ‘Heart of Africa’ Foundation, with the handover of sports equipment to the TKC handball club and the football academy.
He recalled that the promotion of peace is essential to any society. In the current context of tension in the Middle East where Israel's existence is threatened by the terrorist groups Hezbollah in Lebanon, ISIS in Iran and Houthis in Yemen, it is more important than ever to remember that Israel's objective is to seek and promote peace in global relations.
