Climate Change Online Conference with the Protestant University of Central Africa

Climate change poses one of the most significant challenges to our planet nowadays, hence the great need to educate the population in addressing this global crisis. In this light, a first online teaching conference was organized by the Embassy of Israel in Cameroon in collaboration with the Protestant University in Central Africa (PUCA).

The conference titled: “Technological Solutions to Climate Crises – Israel’s contribution” presented by Ambassador Rafael Morav, aimed at sharing knowledge, best practices and innovative teaching strategies focused on the net-zero goal by 2050. The interactive teaching session covered various aspects of climate change and showcased how Israel uses technology (such as; water management, renewable energies, agricultural innovations) to overcome the climate crisis to create a clean environment.

Discussions at the end of the session allowed participants to understand how to best engage in the fight against climate change, adapt existing solutions, as well as devise innovative solutions best suited to the country’s realities. The thought-provoking discussion session allowed members to share their insights, fostering a collaborative environment where participants could learn from one another.

This first online teaching conference experience with the Protestant University of Central Africa was a resounding success, well appreciated by all partners and participants. The Embassy of Israel in Cameroon in collaboration with the Protestant University of Central Africa will work together to have more of such online teaching conferences in view of building the capacity of the students, inspiring change and cultivating in them the ability to build a more sustainable future.
