H.E. Amnon Kalmar Ambassador of Israel to Cameroon, took part in the 1st Independent Regional Consultation on Antisemitism in Africa, under the theme: "Africa in the light of rising global antisemitism ".

The two-Days Consultation was organized by The Rebirth Africa Initiatives (TRAIN), The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, and some Israeli facilitators.

Some of the presentations included:

-Israel: A unique but misunderstood Nationhood;

-Engaging the connection of Judeo-Christian civilization: A Biblical perspective;

-The Future is now: Towards fostering a shared agenda for combating Antisemitism in Africa;

-Unpacking Colonialism and the implications of artificial borders: Middle East perspectives.

Ambassador Kalmar thanked the organizers and participants, and expressed Israel's gratitude for their support at a time when Israel is facing an existential threat. He affirmed that the timing of this terrible threat against the Jewish People and the Conference is not coincidental. He also expressed the will to join the Conference next year in a more peaceful and just world.

Revendend Samuel Fonki the PCC Moderator reminded that "We recognize that Antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem but a human problem that affects us all. It's a threat to shared values of dignity, respect, democracy and human rights". He also added that As Christians, we are called to be agents of transformation, to be salt and light in a world that often seems dark and divided. We are called to stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters, to support them, to amplify their voices, and to work together towards a world where antisemitism is no longer tolerated.
