The Cultural Department seeks to bring Israeli Visual Culture to a wider German audience and to communities all over Germany by promoting and assisting Israeli artists. By this the Culture department covers genres such as literature, film (cinema), music, fashion, fine arts, dance and theatre and architecture (such as Bauhaus). We celebrate and live Israeli culture and seek cultural exchange and dialogue.
Israeli art and culture plays an important role within the global cultural scene: Israeli art is deeply rooted in the international art scene and discourse whilst bringing its own vibrant uniqueness that stems from the multifaced story of Israel´s diverse society.
Our goal is to foster an understanding of the diverse Israeli culture and thereby Israeli society. We believe in the importance of culture as a unifier that brings together people.
We seek to enhance the development of cultural ties and exchange programs between Israel and Germany which will also strengthen the bilateral relations between the nations.
The Culture department functions also as a platform of scientific exchange. We are offering scholarships for attending Hebrew language courses in Israel (Ulpan) as well as for spending an academic year at one of Israel´s universities.
