Tip
You can extend your non-biometric passport / provisional passport only if it was issued for less than 5 years at a consulate or at the Ministry of Interior in Israel - not at Ben Gurion Airport.
Tip
Israeli citizens that has an extension stamp in their passport / provisional passport must check if the countries of which they will be traveling to and through if they are applicable.

A passport / provisional passport can be extended up to 5 years from the original date of issue at most.

Processing times are up until 2 business days from the day of arrival to the consulate until posted back through Australia Post.

If your child is 16 years and 4 months old or over, they must file for a deferment from the IDF authorities before applying for a an extension of their current passport / provisional passport.

Any extension of a travel document is subject to the age of the applicant and to the consul's decision.
- To extend a travel document for a minor, the minor must come in person to an Israeli mission accompanied by one of his parents

If your current passport/travel document was issued for 5 or 10 years - you need to apply for a new passport/travel document.
