The notice may be submitted by Israeli citizens living abroad, whose marital status has changed following marriage, divorce or widowhood.
A change of name comes into force only after it has been approved by the Population and Immigration Authority. Following the approval, an updated passport may be issued by the mission where the notice was submitted.
An updated ID card will be issued by the Population and Immigration Authority in Israel only.
The applicant for the service must appear in person at the mission.

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.
Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.

Public Reception hours:
• Monday – Friday: 09:00-13:00
- If the certificate is not written in English, there must be provided a translation tot the certificate + apostille stamp that approves the translation from the country where the translation took place in addition to the certificate requested above.
- Not all countries have apostille stamps. If the birth took place in a country in which they do not have an apostille stamp, you must check the authentication procedure of the certificate with the embassy of said country - Apostille stamps in Australia
- If your names/spelling on the certificate does not match the Israeli population registry or Australian passport, make sure to email a photocopy of the certificate with Israeli ID number/non-Israeli passports to the consular email.
