Bilateral relations

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Israel began in 1993. Two years later, in 1995 the State of Israel opened its Embassy in the Republic of Angola and, in 2000, Angola opened its Embassy in Tel Aviv.

The State of Israel and Israeli companies invest in Angola with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in several areas. consolidado de ajuda humanitariana That's how the State of Israel changes its strategy and starts a structured work in civil areas, through its business sector, strengthening cooperation with the Government of Angola.

This cooperation today consists mainly of activities in the areas of agriculture, health, education, aviation, civil construction, fishing, diamonds, security and telecommunications, and humanitarian activities.

In the frame of cooperation relations with the Government of Angola, and in the framework of cooperation with MASHAV (Center for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Israel), the Embassy of the State of Israel in Luanda has sponsored the relocation to Israel of cerca de 20 Angolan candidates to attend, annually, courses in diverse domains, especially in agriculture and in some areas of hospital administration.

HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES

In November 2001, our mission donated several batches of medicines to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Angola. The second phase of this donation, destined for the provinces of Malanje and Benguela, took place in June 2003. Still in the area of ​​health, the Embassy of Israel sponsored the Orthopedic Center of Bomba Alta, in the province of Huambo, with equipment and various materials for people with physical disabilities.In August 2002, Israeli companies based in Luanda donated 25,000 tons of rice to the Government of Angola for needy populations.
