Yaron Sideman is the 9th Israeli ambassador to the Holy See. Diplomatic relations between Israel and the Holy See were established relatively recently, on December 30, 1993, three months after the Oslo Accords.

This morning, Monday 16 September, Pope Francis received in audience His Excellency Mr. Yaron Sideman, the new ambassador of Israel, on the occasion of the presentation of the letters with which he is accredited to the Holy See. The diplomatic representative, born in Israel on August 30, 1967, is married and has two children. He held the following positions: embassy in Nigeria (1996-1999); consul for Public Affairs, consulate general in New York (1999-2001); World Jewish and Interreligious Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mae (2001-2007); head of the Congressional Affairs Department, North Americas Division, Mae (2007-2011); Israel Defense College (2011-2012); consul general, Consulate General in the Mid-Atlantic Region (2012-2016); bureau chief, Congressional Affairs Department, North Americas Division, Mae (2016-2021); bureau chief, Office of North Americas, Mae (2021-2024).
