Jonathan Miller
Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations

Ambassador Jonathan Miller currently serves as the Deputy Permanent Representative for the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations. He has held this position since August 2022. Prior to serving as the Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Miller was the Special Envoy for Energy for Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem (2021-2022).
Ambassador Miller’s diplomatic roles have included serving as Ambassador, Regional Commercial Development and Cooperation (2018-2020 and 2014-2016), Director, Department of European Union and European Multilateral Organizations in Jerusalem (2017-2018), Consul General, Consulate of Israel in Mumbai, India (2013-2014), Director of Organizational Change and Development, Director General's Bureau in Jerusalem (2011-2013), Head of Senior Deputy Director General's Bureau (2008-2011), Counselor Political Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Berlin, Germany (2002-2007), Desk Officer, Economic Relations Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Economic Division in Jerusalem (2000-2002), First Secretary, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Oslo, Norway (1997-2000) and Second Secretary, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Nairobi, Kenya (1994-1997).
Ambassador Miller joined Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Cadet in 1992 and completed his diplomatic training in 1994.
Ambassador Miller holds a B.A in International Relations from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Haifa. He also earned a Diploma in Organizational Change and Development from Tel Aviv University and is a graduate of Israel's National Defense College.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Ambassador Miller speaks Hebrew, English, and German. He has three children.
