Following the signing of the Abraham Accords in September 2020, Israel's Embassy in the United Arab Emirates opened its doors on June 29, 2021, in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, hosted the event, which was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Yair Lapid. The establishment of the first Israeli embassy in a Gulf nation holds significance for Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the broader region.
The Embassy of Israel engages in wide range of channels including diplomatic, political, economic, cultural and consular activities. It is the formal diplomatic representation of Israel in the UAE, maintaining open lines of communication with the UAE government and offering a formal avenue for dialogue.
