Today, November 27, the Embassy of Israel joined the Thai people in preserving the beautiful Loy Krathong tradition which has been practiced for hundreds of years. The event was held at Benjasiri Park, in the heart of Bangkok.
The Ambassador of Israel Ms. Orna Sagiv led the Embassy staff and friends to float 165 blue and white bread Krathongs symbolizing Israeli hostages still being held by Hamas-ISIS terror organization in Gaza, and 15 Krathongs in red white and blue colors representing the Thai hostages.
The Ambassador said “Upon releasing the Krathongs, we asked for forgiveness from the Goddess of Water and at the same time we prayed for the safety and swift return of the remaining hostages who are still waiting to come home.”
