Ambassador Vared Hazan officially granted his confirmation as Israel's ambassador to Singapore to President Halima Yaakov on July 25, 2023.

Eliyahu Ward Hazan was born in Jerusalem, Israel on August 5, 1977. He graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and studied German language at the University of Vienna.

After obtaining his degrees, Ambassador Vared Hazan became a columnist for the daily newspaper 'Israel Hayom', while working as a history teacher at a public school in Ramla. He later joined the Likud party as a consultant.

Ambassador Vared Hazan has extensive experience in governance, mainly in Israel and the Middle East. He served as an advisor to various ministers in the government, such as the former Minister of Education, MK Gideon Sa'ar, the former political advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intelligence, MK Dan Meridor.

In the years 2014 to 2023, he held the position of Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud Party as well as the Vice Chairman of the International Democratic Union. In 2021, he became the spokesperson for the Likud Party of then opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu. Ambassador Varad Hazan recently joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and was appointed Israel's ambassador to Singapore.

Ambassador Vared Hazan is fluent in Hebrew and English.

He is married to Gila Vared Hazan and they have two children, aged 2 and 4.
