Rafael Erdreich arrived in Brazil in August 2021 as the Consul General of Israel in São Paulo.

In 2018, the diplomat was the Director of the Department of Planning, Development and Projects of the Division of Public Diplomacy in Jerusalem, and from 2014 to 2018 he was the Head of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel in Italy. Between 2008 and 2014, Rafael was the Director of the Foreign Accounts Department in Jerusalem and years before he was the Administrative Consul for the economic area of the Embassy of Israel in Portugal.
With 30 years of experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Rafael also served as a Minister Counselor and a Consul at the Embassy of Israel Dominican Republic. The diplomat holds a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from the Hebrew University, plus a master's degree in Public Policy from the Tel Aviv University.
