The Department of Community Relations is dedicated to developing and strengthening relationships with the diverse communities of the Pacific Northwest.
The Department works with - and facilitates collaborative dialogue between - local leaders and organizations, including interfaith, civil rights, and social justice groups; government agencies; and community councils. Together we hope to address the challenges and opportunities that impact our region.
The Department also furthers the exchange of ideas between American civil society and Israel, aiding both nations in developing solutions to the most pressing problems faced by the United States, Israel, and the international community.
Areas of cooperation include counter-terrorism and security, energy, environmental sustainability, homelessness, housing, human trafficking, infrastructure and development, LGBT rights, rapid crisis response, refugees, veteran affairs, and women’s rights.
