Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Philippines
Ambassador Ilan Fluss, born in Haifa, Israel, in December 1965, is a distinguished diplomat with a diverse career. After five years of service in the Israeli navy, he earned a psychology degree from the University of Haifa and an MBA from the University of Derby.
Joining the foreign service in 1994, Ambassador Fluss has represented Israel in various roles at the Israeli embassies in Manila (the Philippines), The Hague (the Netherlands), and Pretoria (South Africa), as well as at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the UN in New York.
From 2016 to 2018, as part of a special operation, he represented Israel in Bahrain.
In Israel, he served as Director for Policy Planning and External Relations and later as Deputy Head of MASHAV, Israel’s agency for international development cooperation (2009-2016). From 2018 to 2021, he was the Deputy Head of the Economic Division at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In October 2021, Ambassador Fluss assumed the role of the Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines.
Married to Gila, he is a proud father of four.
