Israeli Embassy remodeled and equipped room with multimedia technological equipment

In the framework of Peru-Israel Friendship Day, the Embassy of Israel in Lima today donated the multipurpose technological room "Kerem Shalom" ("Vineyards of Peace") to the adolescent hospitalization area of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases INEN.
The room was delivered by the Ambassador of Israel, Eran Yuvan, to the Institutional Deputy Head of INEN, Dr. Adela Heredia Zelaya.

In his speech, Ambassador Eran Yuvan highlighted: "Through the medical and humanitarian project that we inaugurated today, in a difficult moment for the people of Israel, we are committed to the Peruvian people. While in Israel people are killed, injured and kidnapped as a result of terrorism, we sanctify life and help Peru with a project related to saving lives, recovery and rehabilitation….That is why the hall we inaugurated today is called "Kerem Shalom" ("Vineyard of Peace"), which symbolizes our desire and longing in Israel, we want peace, life and hope."

The new multipurpose technology room was designed by Israeli architect Mara Goltzman for educational and recreational purposes. The room includes shelves for storage, technological equipment such as laptops, television and screen, as well as chairs, folding tables, bean bags and a modern screen that divides the space of the room from the study area. It also includes reading books, educational games and a Play Station. In addition, the room will have new flooring and baseboards donated by the company Pisopak.

This unique project is the most significant donation that the Israeli diplomatic mission has made in Peru in 2024. Its execution involved a lot of dedication, effort and planning, as well as significant investments and financing. This donation is made within the framework of the long-standing cooperation, friendship and ties between Israel and Peru and will benefit, in the long term, many children and young people from INEN, who are undergoing cancer treatment.
Despite the difficult times that the Israeli people are going through, due to the war that Israel has been facing against terrorist organizations since October 7, 2023, the Israeli Embassy has committed itself to this humanitarian and medical project with the aim of improving the lives of Peruvian patients.
The following participated in the donation ceremony: Congressman Javier Padilla, President of the Peru-Israel Parliamentary League; Deputy Minister for Women Jessica Ruiz Atau, Ambassador Jorge Raffo, Director General for Africa, the Middle East and Gulf Countries of the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, Mr. Constantino Lilo Córdova, representative of the Ministry of Health, President of the Jewish Association of Peru, José Ackerman; Mrs. Susan Díaz de Olcese, President of ALINEN and diplomatic and local staff of the Israeli Embassy.
