The Israeli embassy provides the opportunity for Panamanian professionals to apply for courses in different areas through our International Development Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV).
Created in 1958, following the vision of then Foreign Minister Golda Meir and Prime Minister David Ben Gurion to help friendly nations overcome development challenges by sharing knowledge and technologies, which provided the foundation for Israel's own development.
Some 80,000 people representing more than 130 countries have already traveled to Israel to take part in courses offered in a vast field of disciplines such as: agriculture, entrepreneurship, early childhood education, innovation, gender equality, youth leadership, among others. After the pandemic, many of the courses are offered virtually.
Courses are conducted at training centers and universities including the Volcani Institute, the Golda Meir International Center on Mount Carmel (Haifa); the Center for Development Studies (Rehovot), the Peoples Institute (Kfar Saba) and others.
Around 120 courses are held annually in five languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.
There have been many Panamanians who have been trained in Israel from different provinces of the country.
