Israel is a country with an invaluable cultural wealth, which combines the ancient and the modern. Countless cultural activities in different branches of art are carried out there.
Four thousand years of Jewish legacy, more than a century of Zionism and more than half a century of a modern State, have given life to a culture with its own identity. The influence of a society mostly of immigrants has contributed to the formation of a melting pot that brings together multiple cultural and social influences.
Furthermore, with the objective that this cultural exchange between both countries is dynamic, since 1962 the Institute of Cultural Relations Panama - Israel has been operating in Panama, which was founded by Mr. Eduardo Morgan Álvarez.
Among its functions are:
• Maintain contacts with relevant ministries and governmental, non-governmental and international institutions.
• Strengthen relationships with festivals, museums, art galleries, libraries, academic institutions, etc.
• Organize exhibitions, festivals, conferences, seminars on art, dance, theater, music, literature, gastronomy, among others from Israel in Panama.
• Promote festivals or cultural activities that take place in Israel among Panamanian artists.
• Coordinate social impact activities in schools and institutions, through the teaching of artists who visit Panama.
• Inform about possibilities of studying in Israel and receiving scholarships from the Israeli government.
• Inform about Holocaust education seminars.
The department is open to projects, proposals and great ideas!
