Celebrating Israeli Climbers on Everest Day

Mount Everest Day is celebrated on May 29 to honor the mountain climbers, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who climbed the mountain on that day in 1953.

On this day, we celebrate Mount Everest Day, May 29, was chosen to honor the mountain climbers Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who climbed the mountain on that day in 1953. Today we extend our congratulations to the courageous Israeli climbers who conquered the highest peak on Earth: Doron Arel (1992), Dudi Yifrach, Micha Yaniv (2006), Daniel Keren (2008), Daniel Wolfson (2021), Barak Matalon, Roi Negri (2022), Aviad Sido (2023).

A notable mention to Nadav Ben Yehuda (2012), whom, 300m from the summit, turned around to rescue a foreign climber.

These achievements, displays the Israeli spirit with the hope to inspires future generations of mountaineers.​
