Growing seasonal vegetables in the yard of the Embassy of Israel in Yangon

Practicing a Jewish version of the Buddhist 'Metta' Principle of 'Loving-Kindness': A cultivated mental state in which our attention and concern are directed toward the peacefulness of others.

We are happy to share that we have embarked on a beautiful journey of growing seasonal vegetables in the yard of the Embassy of Israel in Yangon. Our goal is to cultivate fresh, nutritious produce to share and donate within our community. Together, we are sowing the seeds of generosity and hope!

After some dedicated care and attention, our seasonal vegetables have started to flourish! It’s amazing to see our plants are yielding their first harvests, even on a humble scale. Every little bit counts, and we hope for more harvest ahead!

Today, we have harvested our homegrown vegetables, lovingly cooked them with our own hands, and are now donating these delicious, nutritious meals to those in need. It’s a joy to see our efforts come full circle, from planting seeds to sharing a meal. Together, we are making a difference, one meal at a time.

Not that we enjoy much happiness in this horrible year Israel is undergoing, but when in darkness, we light a small candle: a Buddhist and a Jewish one.
