Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky recently visited St. Louis, Missouri, to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between the State of Israel and the State of Missouri. During his visit, he held productive meetings with Governor Mike Parson and Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, where he updated them on the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas war and expressed gratitude for their steadfast support of Israel during these challenging times and their commitment to fight antisemitism.
The Consul General also met with Senator Brian Williams and leadership officials at Clayco, a leading construction company. They explored the potential role of the Israeli consulate in promoting economic and business cooperation and enhancing diversity and youth development within the local workforce. This dialogue highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for young people and fostering an inclusive environment in the business sector.
Additionally, the Consul General met with the Vice Chancellor of Washington University in St. Louis. The Consul General was pleased to hear about the university’s commitment to fight antisemitism on campus and ensure a safe and supportive environment for students during these critical times.
The Consul General briefed local Jewish leaders and also held a productive meeting at BioSTL, a local accelerator which deals mainly with Life Sciences, Medicine, and Agriculture and which holds an extensive partnership with Israel.
Overall, Consul General Elbaz-Starinsky's visit to St. Louis was marked by meaningful engagements and a strong commitment to fostering stronger connections and collaborative efforts between the Israeli consulate and various local stakeholders.
