- A non-biometric travel document can be extended for up to five years.
Any extension of a travel document is subject to the age of the applicant and to the consul's decision.
- To extend a travel document for a minor, the minor must come in person to an Israeli mission accompanied by one of his parents
To visit the embassy, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.
Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.
The service is free of charge.
It is not possible to extend passports beyond five years from the date of issuance.
A passport issued abroad is valid for only five years! After five years, the validity cannot be extended, and a new passport application must be submitted.
If less than five years have passed since the passport was issued, it may sometimes be extended by submitting a request by mail for a full five years.
For example: If the passport was issued in 2021 and valid until 2022, it can be extended until 2026 (a total of 5 years). The extension is free of charge and does not require new photos.
To request an extension, please send the extension application form (link), the travel document you wish to extend, and a prepaid registered mail envelope for returning the document.
