This is the second exchange since the implementation of the ceasefire on January 19, when the Hamas terror organization released three Israeli female civilians in exchange for 90 Palestinian prisoners.
Four abducted female soldiers, Karina Ariev, Liri Albag, Daniella Gilboa, and Naama Levy, were released today (Saturday, 25 January 2025) from Hamas captivity and were reunited with their families after 477 days in captivity.

Following their release, the Prime Minister’s Office released the following statement:
Today Israel has received four female soldiers that were held hostage by the Hamas terrorist organization, and in return, will release security prisoners according to the arrangement that was determined.
As per the agreement, Israel will not allow the passage of Gazans to the north of the Strip - until the release of the civilian Arbel Yehud, who was supposed to be released today, is arranged.
