Delegation of the Israel-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Knesset meets with members of the Lithuanian Government and Parliament

The meetings focused on the situation in the Middle East, bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Israel, and the war in Ukraine

A delegation from the Israel-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), headed by Lithuanian-born Simon Davidson, met on March 3th in Vilnius with Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys.

The meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Israel, and the war in Ukraine.

The Head of the Lithuanian diplomacy expressed support for Israel's security and right to defend itself and the importance of release of hostages.

Mr. Simon Davidson, chairman of the friendship group, thanked the minister for Lithuania's stand to the right of Israel ever since October 7 and Lithuania's involvement in combating Iran.

During a meeting in the Seimas the Israeli delegation expressed gratitude members of the Seimas for adoption of a strong resolution condemning the barbaric Hamas attack, a mere three days after the tragic events of October 7th. 

Also  on its subsequent resolution, adopted in October 2024, which recognized the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

The delegation also expressed appreciation for the parliaments' sustained commitment to commemorating Holocaust victims and combating anti-Semitism, as evidenced by the resolution adopted earlier this year, which codified the commitment to oppose anti-Semitism, xenophobia, and other forms of hatred.
