Ambassador Michael Lotem is a professional diplomat, husband to Yahel Margovsky-Lotem and father to Suzi, Boaz and Yoav.
Ambassador Michael Lotem started his diplomatic journey in Swaziland in 1993. He then spent most of his 30 years in the service mainly in Eastern Europe and the CIS, including:
Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan (2004-2006), Ambassador to Azerbaijan (2009-2012) & Consul General in St. Petersburg Russia (2014- 2017).
During his years in service, both abroad in the headquarters he emphasized promoting trade and economic relations as an important pillar in supporting Bilateral relations.
His nomination as Special Envoy for Energy (2012-2014) and the head of Economic Department in MFA (Asia, CIS) was within this scope.
Returning to Africa as Ambassador in Kenya, accredited to Malawi, Uganda, and designate Tanzania and Seychelles, he will keep underlining the economic relations as a solid base for the over whole bilateral relations.
