Background
Israel is a small country that faces significant challenges such as water scarcity, limited land, and a rapidly growing population. As such, it has become an ideal living laboratory for pioneering solutions in modern agriculture.
Despite its size, Israel boasts diverse climatic regions, allowing for the year-round production of a wide variety of vegetables, whether in open fields or controlled environments.
The country’s vegetable sector is celebrated for its high yield, exceptional quality, and off-season production.
Israel is also recognized for its advanced cultivation systems, developed over decades to address the scarcity of natural resources and meet the demands of global markets. Israeli innovations include the development of new crop varieties and covering materials, sophisticated irrigation, fertigation and climate control systems, increased use of bee pollination, and integrated pest and disease management, along with post-harvest treatments.
A key driver of this dynamic sector is the close collaboration between governmental institutions, national and regional research centers, the national extension system, growers' associations, and the agri-tech hub. This synergy fosters continuous development and innovation in Israeli agriculture.

The training program aims to share with participants Israel's acquired experience in the development of intensive and sustainable vegetable production systems.
The course will also serve as a platform for discussing the application of the latest methods, new strategies and technologies in the unique conditions of each participating countries.

Application Requirements
The course is geared towards professionals from governmental and non-governmental institutions, universities, research institutes and/or private sector, involved in the development of the vegetable sector on a national, regional or local level.
Candidates should hold an academic degree in related disciplines and at least two years of professional experience. A full command of English is required.
