On the occasion of the official visit of Ms. Aliza Bin-Noun (Director-General of the Political Bureau of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to Japan, together with Gilad Cohen (Ambassador of Israel to Japan), the State of Israel delivered the first round of relief supplies for those affected by the earthquake. The supplies were sent through Operation Blessing Japan (International NGO, Non-Profit Organization).
The State of Israel heartfelt condolences to the individuals who lost their lives in the Reiwa 6 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. Our thoughts are with the departed, and we offer our deepest sympathies to their bereaved families. Additionally, we sincerely express our sympathies to those affected by the disaster, including the families and associates.

“Israel stands in solidarity with its close friend Japan. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the 238 victims who tragically lost their lives during the earthquake in the Noto Peninsula on January 1, 2024. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time, and Israel is committed to providing assistance to the affected communities” Ms. Aliza Bin-Noun stated.
Ambassador Gilad Cohen further adds, "The initial shipment of humanitarian aid, among others to follow, comprises food products customized to local needs, including items proudly produced in Israel. We sincerely hope for a swift recovery of the affected communities, and we commit to doing everything within our capability to support this process
Moreover, Don Thomson, Operation Blessing Japan’s national director, expressed his gratitude, stating, "It is our privilege to be able to work with the Israel Embassy in Tokyo to deliver needed supplies to the earthquake zone in Ishikawa Prefecture. Our policy is always to ask what needs are, and so we are very happy to be able to deliver these supplies that the local survivors have asked for, on behalf of the Israeli people."
In an effort to contribute to the support of the affected individuals and the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken area, the Embassy of Israel in Japan is delivering relief supplies to the Noto Peninsula. These supplies, reflecting the current needs on the ground, include retort food featuring products from Israel.
The relief supplies were dispatched from the Embassy of Israel on February 5, 2024, in collaboration with Operation Blessing Japan (International NGO, Non-Profit Organization).
