The mandate of H.E. Alon Bar, Ambassador of Israel to Italy and San Marino, has come to an end.
Here is his farewell to Italy:
"Shalom everybody.
My mandate has come to an end.
This farewell also coincides with my last assignment for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, before my retirement.
I am very happy that my last work experience in the service of my country was in this wonderful country that I love: Italy.
When I arrived, I did not think it would have gone the way it did. The last year has been a terrible year for Israel and for the region.
The countless demonstrations of solidarity and closeness, from the institutions and from so many ordinary people from all over Italy, have been of great help to continue.
Now I return home, to my children and my grandchildren. Happy to have contributed, in some way, to the strengthening of relations between our two countries and our two peoples.
I am convinced that the friendship between Italy and Israel is solid, and the Ambassador who will replace me will be able to continue working to improve it.
Thank you for all the affection and support that you have made me feel.
I will definitely return as a private citizen, to enjoy the beauties of this extraordinary country in complete tranquility.
In the meantime, goodbye to everyone in Israel."
